Bob Ekstrom, Executive Director
Bob assumed the leadership of the YFRC in March 2009. He brought to the Yolo FRC extensive experience working with children and families. He began his career as a 21-year old social worker with Stanislaus County Welfare working in family services and foster care. After serving in Viet Nam, he returned to school and received his Masters in Social work. He began a 26 year career with California Youth Authority as a social worker and retired from state service as the Assistant Deputy Director of Youth Authority Parole. For the next six year he was the Executive Director of WIND Youth Services,where he was recognized as a leading advocate in the treatment of homeless children and families.
Nicole Kesler, Clinical Director
Nicole Kesler has a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from the College of Notre Dame and became licensed as a Marriage & Family Therapist in 2000. Nicole has extensive experience in providing individual, family and group therapy in a variety of settings (outpatient clinics, school settings, and intensive in-home & private practice). She is passionate about identification and early intervention for children in “at risk” environments. More recently, Ms. Kesler has worked in private practice, further developing a specialty in group interventions for ASD (autism spectrum disorders). She joined the YFRC in May 2007 and is enjoying the opportunity to supervise such a dedicated team and oversee the clinical aspects of this program.
Josie Enriquez, Case Management Supervisor
Josie Enriquez has been with the Yolo Family Resource Center since 2002. Ms. Enriquez was trained in the California Safe and Healthy Families (Cal-SAHF)home visiting model, a child abuse prevention model, and has trained extensively in family support, a family resource center case management model. She is a certified Parent Project Trainer, MegaSkills instructor and PLAN to LEAD Parent Trainer. She is fluent in written and spoken Spanish.
She has extensive knowledge in community resources throught out Yolo County, and is particularily skilled in helping clients and staff in linking to the right services.
Ana Soltero, Operations Manager
Ana Soltero was born and raised in Woodland, CA. She came to the Yolo Family Resource Center in 2002 and worked as the administrative assistant, and was promoted in 2005 as the operations manager. In her position as operations manager she is the fiscal supervisor, human resource manager, technical assistant, executive assistant, and many other assigned duties to keep the agency running efficiently. Ana is currently completing her bachelors degree at CSUS in Business Administration.
Lamar Heystek, Coordinator of Youth Programs
Lamar Heystek is the coordinator of the Woodland Coalition for Youth. Lamar earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Political Science and Linguistics at UC Davis. He brought to his position a committment to community actions and served on a number of community boards, including the City of Davis Recreation & Park Commission. At the age of 27, he was elected to the Davis City Council, becoming the youngest member of that body since the Vietnam War.
